Ann Pancoast (class of 1985) played for the South Dakota women's basketball team from 1981-85. A three-time all-conference selection, Pancoast was voted the league's most valuable player during her senior season as she finished the year with 504 points for the second-best total in school history.
Pancoast was USD's leading scorer in 43 of the 86 games in which she was a starter. Three times named the conference player of the week, Pancoast was the NCC's leading scorer as a junior with 18.3 points per game and that year she set USD's single-game scoring record with 37 points.
A strong sophomore campaign put Pancoast on her way to elite status when she scored 499 points, including a season-high 32. Twice named to the academic all-NCC team, Pancoast wrapped up her Coyote career ranking second in career scoring with 1,591 points.
Pancoast was a starting outfielder on the USD softball team and she was a product of a very successful high school program. Named the recipient of the Miss South Dakota Basketball Award, Pancoast led Sioux Falls Washington to the state championship as a senior.
