Cilla Rew Fitzsimmons is one of South Dakota's great all-time track and field performers as she won consecutive titles in the long jump and triple jump in 1985 and 1986.

She won four individual NCC outdoor titles and one indoor title — including the long jump in 1985 (18-71/4) and again in 1986 (18-91/4). She won the triple jump in 1985 (36-101/2) and 1986 (37-8). Fitzsimmons, who won the 1983 NCC Indoor long jump (17-7), also was a member of South Dakota's 1986-championship 400-meter relay. She received a B.S. degree in education in 1986 and an M.A. in 1992 from USD.

An elementary teacher at Lincoln Elementary School in Yankton, she is married to former Coyote men's track and field runner and South Dakota distance coach Dan Fitzsimmons.
