Ed Livingston was "one of the smartest guards around" as scoring leader on USD's 1918-19 basketball team which had a 7-2 record and won the state championship. Livingston scored 197 points that season, a 21.9 point per game average. Many South Dakotans remember Livingston as a basketball official - he refereed 15 consecutive state tournaments. In 1959 he became the first Supervisor of Officials in the North Central Conference. He was a golf pro at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls from 1944 until his death in 1963.
