Harry Hauffe ranks as one of the outstanding offensive lineman in Coyote football history. A three-year letter winner for the Coyote football team. he was a tri-captain of the 1957 Coyotes football team earning all-North Central Conference honors at tackle. Hauffe was a fourteenth round draft choice of the Green Bay Packers and also received a tryout with Saskatchewan of the Canadian Football League. Following graduation, Hauffe, a native of Leola, SD, coached at Wall, SD, for 2 years before returning to USD to serve as assistant football coach under Ralph Stewart in 1961. Hauffe later joined the Ironworkers Union and in 1975 he was appointed to the position to the position of general organizer with the International Association of Bridge, Structure, and Ornamental Ironworkers. He lives in Casper, Wyoming.
