Hugo Goehle is one of the most highly respected high school coaches in the upper Midwest compiling impressive records as both football and basketball coach at Hills-Beaver Creek (Minn.) High School. Goehle, a native of Luverne, MN, lettered as an end on the 1949 and 1950 University of South Dakota football team. Goehle compiled a 135-44-1 record in 22 years as head football coach at Hills-Beaver Creek, with his teams winning nine conference championships and enjoying six undefeated seasons. Goehle, who is also athletic director has a whopping 405-167-1 record in 28 years as basketball coach at Hills-Beaver Creek, producing 13 conference championship units.
