Kelly Gese, originally from Shoreview, Minn., enjoyed a stellar career and helped lead the re-birth of the Coyote women's basketball program in the late 1990s. Kelly was a two-time all-conference selection and was all-region in 1998 when she averaged 18.5 points and 2.6 assists per game. She averaged more than four assists per game over her four years at USD and finished her career fourth in school history in assists with 439 as well as 10th all-time in school history with 1,302 points. Kelly graduated from USD with a master's degree in communication disorders/speech language pathology in 2002 and currently lives in Seal Beach, Calif., where she is a speech-language pathologist at Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach, Calif.
