Roger Faber ranks as one of the greatest all-time men's basketball players in school history. A former all-state prep performer at Canistota, SD, Faber is one of nine players in Coyotes' basketball history to earn all-North Central Conference honors three times (1969, 1961, and 1962). As a sophomore he helped lead the Coyotes to second place in the NCC (8-4, 11-12 overall). During his senior season in 1961-62, Faber led the NCC in scoring with a 24.6 average (23.1 in conference play, 12 games) and he also earned honorable mention all-American honors. He was a three-year letter winner for the Coyotes from 1959-62 when USD was led by head coach Dwane Clodfelter. When he graduated, Faber was the Coyotes' scoring (1, 160) and rebounds (593) leader. Faber served as vice president for Guy Carpenter and Company of Minnesota, a reinsurance intermediary in Minneapolis, MN.
