Originally of Sioux City, Iowa, and now of Omaha, Neb., Russ Dokken earned all-NCC honors during his junior and senior seasons at South Dakota. He was an honorable mention Division II all-American in 1979. During his career, he caught 61 passes for 952 yards and five touchdowns. A member of the last football team to win a NCC title (1978), Dokken left South Dakota fourth in career catches and sixth in receiving yards. He also held the record for passes caught by a tight end in a game with seven. An outstanding pitcher in baseball, he holds the conference record for most complete games (7) in the NCC in 1978. Dokken who earned a B.S.B.A. degree from USD in 1980, is the national sales manager for the Private Label Division at the John Morrell and Company.
