A three-year football letter winner from 1935-37, Russell Sauvage was an outstanding lineman for the Coyotes. Sauvage was one of five Coyotes named all-North Central Conference in 1937. A native of Redfield, SD, Sauvage who played guard, was a co-captain with all-American back Billy Ryan in 1937 as the Coyotes finished second in the NCC for the second straight year.
