Stan Siegel, a native of Sioux City, IA, was an important contributor to USD Athletics. As a member of the DakotaDome Corporation, he played a key role in raising funds for the construction of the Dome. Siegel lettered on the 1949 Coyote football team and received a business administration degree from USD, graduating cum laude in 1953. He also graduated magna cum laude from the USD School of Law in 1954. Siegel, who practiced law in Aberdeen since 1954, was also a past president of the State Bar of South Dakota (1967-68) along with serving as a chancellor of the Association of the Bar of the Northwestern Plains and Mountains (1968-69( and a member of the United States Circuit Court Nominating Commission (1978-81). Siegel has also been a member of the USD Foundation Board of Directors since 1974, including a tenure as a president of the board from 1977-78. In 1982, Siegel was inducted into the Siouxland Softball Hall of Fame.
