Tom Sahli ranks as one of the best baseball players in South Dakota school history. A two-time all-North Central Conference outfielders in 1968 and 1969, he holds USD game records for hits (four) and runs batted in (seven). Named one of the outstanding college athletes in America in 1968, Sahli was voted USD's MVP three times. In 1968, Sahli hit a robust .393 in conference play and finished his Coyote playing days with a .323 career batting average.
