SIOUX FALLS, S.D.— South Dakota sophomore Kamryn Farris has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Volleyball Defensive Peak Performer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Farris, honored for the first time in her career, averaged 4.90 digs per set in South Dakota's 2-0 week of league play. The Lansing, Kansas, native totaled 49 digs, 10 assists, and four service aces to help South Dakota pull off not one but two reverse sweeps.

In the Coyotes' 3-2 reserve sweep of in-state rival South Dakota State, Farris tallied a career-high 30 digs while adding three service aces, four assists, and one kill. Farris recorded 19 digs, six assists, and one service ace in South Dakota's reverse sweep of Omaha.

"I'm really proud of Kamryn for how she continues to learn," said head coach Leanne Williamson. "She was a huge part of our success as a team last week and will continue to be as we move forward."

South Dakota heads back out on the road to take on Oral Roberts Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. and Denver Oct. 28 at 2 p.m.
