Ronnie McDougle Breaks Track & Field Record At Howard Wood Dakota Relays

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Ronnie McDougle set a new Howard Wood Dakota Relays record and Andrew Neugebauer continued his outstanding outdoor season with another 800-meter title as South Dakota had several strong performances at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays in Sioux Falls on Friday.

McDougle (Fr., Pompano, Fla.) scorched to a 21.79 in the 200-meters, breaking the record of Tom Green (USD, 22.22, 2000). Green was unable to defend the title as he is redshirting this outdoor season. In the 200-meter dash, Michael Williams (Fr., Tampa, Fla.) finished fourth (22.36) while Pat Belling (Sr., Omaha, Neb.) was ninth (23.06).

Neugebauer (Sr., Dimock, S.D.), who was the NCC Outdoor Men's Track Athlete of the Week, won the 800-meter run in 1:50.67 with James Jeffrey (Fr., Spearfish, S.D.) finishing fourth in 1:54.27. Lee Lockwood (RS Fr., Rapid City, S.D.) was first in the 400-meter dash in 49.75. Jason Probasco (Sr., Woodbine, Iowa) finished second in the 5,000-meter run in 14:51.66 while Adam Lindahl (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) was fourth in 15:14.23.

For the women, Molly Wedel (Jr., Spencer, Iowa) was third in the 1,500-meter run in 4:38.73. The 4x400 relay team finished second in 3:50.53.

200-meter dash: McDougle, 1st, 21.79 (broke record of Green, USD, 22.22, 2000), Williams, 4th, 22.36, Belling, 9th, 23.06.

400-meter dash: Lockwood, 1st, 49.75.

800-meter run: Neugebauer, 1st, 1:50.67, Jeffery, 4th, 1:54.27.

5,000-meter run: Probasco, 2nd, 14:51.66, Lindahl, 4th, 15:14.23.

Women's Results

400-meter dash: Nicole Nelson, 11th, 1:04.27.

1,500-meter run: Wedel, 3rd, 4:38.73.

4x400-meter relay: USD, 2nd, 3:50.53.

shot put: Susan Chamberlain, 7th, 37'03.50.
