VERMILLION, S.D. (August 6, 2001) - Tickets are now available for The University of South Dakota home football season opener at Crane Youngworth Field in Yankton on Thursday, August 30. The Coyotes, 8-3 a year ago and third in the North Central Conference, will play host to the #22nd ranked Winona State Warriors. Gates will open an hour and half prior to kickoff. This will be the first time that college football has been played in Yankton since Yankton College discontinued operations in 1984. As for the Coyotes, this is their first home football game outdoors since leaving Inman Stadium in 1979 for the DakotaDome.

Advanced general admission tickets of $8 for adults and $4 for students (fifth grade and under are free) can be purchased at several Yankton business outlets beginning Friday, August 3. Ticket outlets include HyVee, Sunshine Foods, Rexall Drug, Evie's Hallmark, Yankton Mall, First National Bank of SD, First Dakota National Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, Marquette Banks, CorTrust Bank, First Federal Bank, Service Center Federal Credit Union, Yankton Chamber of Commerce, and at the Riverboat Days Informational Booth (during Riverboat Day's). Tickets purchased at the game will be $11 for adults and $5 for students. A pre-game tailgate party, which is being sponsored by HyVee and the Yankton Rotary Club, will begin at 5:30 p.m. inside the stadium and will cost $3 per person. A post game gathering with South Dakota Coyotes Coach John Austin will be held immediately following the game at Dave's Lounge (Kelly Inn Best Western). Ticket stubs will be good for discounted food and beverage specials during the post game party.
