ST. CLOUD, MINN. - Behind a pair of double-doubles from senior

Jenni Flynn, the 17th-ranked South Dakota women's basketball team (20-5, 5-4 NCC) recorded a 90-77 victory over St. Cloud State (16-6, 6-3 NCC) Friday night at Halenbeck Hall in St. Cloud, Minn.
Koupal, a native of Wagner, S.D., had 23 points and 14 rebounds en route to her fourth-consecutive double-double. Koupal, who hit 7-of-15 attempts from the field, was a perfect 9-of-9 from the free-throw line.
Flynn had 21 points, 12 rebounds and five assists, all of which were season highs. The South Sioux City, Neb., native was 8-of-10 from the free-throw line. As a team, the Coyotes shot 88.9 percent (24-of-27) from the charity stripe.
The Coyotes were also hot from the three-point line, connecting on 8-of-15 attempts from long range for 53.3 percent. Junior guard Kayla Jacobs paced USD from downtown, tying a season-high with a trio of three-pointers on five attempts. Jacobs, a native of Watertown, S.D., finished with 11 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Sophomore forward Meghan Woster (Sioux Falls, S.D.) was the fourth Coyote in double figures with 12 points, four assists and three rebounds.
In the first half, the two teams played to a 23-23 tie at the five-minute mark, but USD buried a trio of three-pointers to key a 10-0 run over the next three and a half minutes, giving South Dakota a 33-23 lead. USD, which played much of the first half without Koupal because of foul trouble, took a 37-30 lead into the locker room at half time.
St. Cloud State kept the Coyote lead to seven at 49-42 with 15:43 to play in the second half, but a 13-0 run by USD over the next five minutes put the Huskies away.
St. Cloud State, which was held to 34.7 percent shooting for the game (26-of-75), was led in scoring by Erika Quigley, who had 26 points and seven rebounds.
USD pulled down 47 rebounds, which tied a team season-high, compared to 38 boards for the Huskies.
South Dakota returns to action Saturday night in Mankato, Minn., against Minnesota State starting at 6 p.m.
