Jenn Henke Signs National Letter of Intent to Play Volleyball at South Dakota

VERMILLION, S.D. -- Brian Lampa, head coach of The University of South Dakota women's volleyball team, has announced the signing of Jenn Henke of Rosemount, Minn., for the 2008-09 season. Henke, a 5-5 libero/defensive specialist, has signed a national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at USD.

Henke recorded 506 digs as a senior when she served as team captain for Rosemount High School. A four-year letter winner, she was named team MVP in 2007. Henke was a two-time All-Lake Conference first team selection and twice earned honorable mention All-State honors. As a senior, she recorded 18 service aces with a 97.3 percent service percentage.

In 2007, she played for M1 17-1s in USA Volleyball where her team placed third in the open division. She is currently playing for the M1 18-1s club team.

"We are pleased that Jenn (Henke) will join the Coyote Volleyball program," said Lamppa. "Jenn has exhibited good leadership skills and was one of the best defensive players in Minnesota this year. She will fit nicely into our system."

The USD women's volleyball team set a school record in 2007 with a 23-9 record and earned a berth in the NCAA Division II playoffs for the second time in school history.
