The Coyotes fought hard in the first half and were within 2-0 at halftime. Jennifer Ogren (Jr., Raymore, Mo.) kept the Coyotes close in the first half with seven saves in net. Morgan Marlborough and Colleen Goetzmann had goals in the first half for Nebraska.
The Huskers, who are averaging 4.33 goals a game, displayed their explosiveness in the second half with seven goals as they pulled away.
Sarah Wheeler (Jr., Duluth, Minn.), Rachel Greene (Fr., Onalaska, Wis.), Erin Bello (So., Fort Collins, Colo.) and Yutzil Rodriguez (Fr., Pierre, S.D.) had shots for USD. Ogren had seven saves, while Taura Truba (So., Coaldal, Alberta, Canada) finished with six.
