Box Score VERMILLION, S.D. -- Three unanswered goals in the second half proved to be the difference as North Dakota defeated
the University of South Dakota women's soccer team, 5-2, in Great West Conference play Friday in Vermillion, S.D.
The game, which was the regular-season finale for both teams, was tied at 2-2 at halftime. USD (4-11-2, 1-5 GWC) led 1-0 early after freshman Afton Keiser (Sioux Falls, S.D.) scored a goal off of an assist from sophomore Erin Bello (Fort Collins, Colo.). It was Keiser's second goal of the season.
Just over five minutes later, UND (4-12, 4-2 GWC) tied the game when a corner kick found the back of the net.
The Coyotes answered just 27 seconds later when freshman Jenny Teslow (Sioux Falls, S.D.) scored her team-high eighth goal of the season, pushing the Coyotes up, 2-1.
North Dakota came back to tie the game at 2-2 late in the first half, and the score stayed that way at halftime.
The game stayed tied at 2-2 for the first 25 minutes of the second half before North Dakota scored the first of three goals in the frame at the 70:28 mark to pull away to the 5-2 win.
Senior Jen Ogren (Raymore, Mo.) had six saves in net for USD. The Coyotes had 13 shots in the game, including eight on goal.
