VERMILLION, S.D. -- University of South Dakota volleyball coach Matt Houk has announced that
Kim Bukowski is joining the Coyote volleyball coaching staff as a graduate assistant for the 2010 season.
Bukowski, a native of Waukesha, Wis., enjoyed a stellar volleyball career as a setter at Valparaiso University from 2006-09.
Bukowski was a two-time All-Horizon League selection (2008 and 2009) and finished with 3,543 set assists for her career, placing her third all-time in school history. In 2009, she helped Valpo rank in the top 20 nationally in kills per set. In 2008, she led the Horizon League in set assists per set and finished sixth in the nation in that category.
She earned three conference player of the week accolades during her career and was named AVCA All-Midwest Region honorable mention in 2008. On Nov. 10, 2009, she was recognized by the Collegiate Volleyball Update (CVU.com) as one of its weekly Top Performers as well.
She appeared in 117 matches during her career at Valpo. The Crusaders finished 91-42 during Bukowski's four-year career.
Bukowski is a 2010 Valparaiso graduate with a degree in finance. She is pursuing her master's degree at USD.
