Box Score VERMILLION, S.D. - The University of South Dakota women's soccer team nearly erased a two-goal halftime deficit Saturday but the Coyotes' comeback fell short in a 2-1 loss to Idaho at the USD Soccer Field.
USD (2-4-1) was down 2-0 at halftime but closed the gap to 2-1 with less than 29 minutes left when freshman Jenny Teslow (Sioux Falls, S.D.) scored off of an assist from sophomore Erin Bello (Fort Collins, Colo.).
USD was unable to score the tying goal, however and saw its rally fall one goal short in the process.
Senior goalkeeper Jen Ogren (Raymore, Mo.) had 15 saves in the game, including 10 in the first half. Teslow led USD with four shots, including two on goal, while Bello and freshman Afton Keiser (Sioux Falls, S.D.) had two each.
Idaho had a 36-12 edge in shots, although the second half was much more even in that department.
The Coyotes will cap off their six-game homestand on Friday, Sept. 17 at home against Eastern Washington. Game time is 4 p.m. at the USD Soccer Field.
