Vermillion, S.D. - After capturing one of the biggest wins in University of South Dakota football history with a 41-38 upset of Minnesota on Saturday, the Coyotes kept collecting honors on Monday.

Junior quarterback Dante Warren (Arlington Heights, Ill.) was selected a College Sporting News All-Star and was named The Sports Network/Fathead.com National Player of the Week for week two of the college football season. Warren complied 433 yards of total offense against the Gophers and was responsible for five touchdowns in just his second career start.

He completed 21-of-30 passes for 352 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 81 yards and two touchdowns. His highlight-reel day included a 61-yard strike to sophomore wide receiver Will Powell (Sioux Falls, S.D.) in the third quarter and a 36-yard, naked bootleg for a touchdown on a fourth-and-one play in the fourth quarter.

Warren was also on the ballot for the AT&T ESPN All-America Player of the Week and the Capital One Cup Impact Performance of the Week. Links to vote in each poll are above.

College Football Performance Awards also named Warren, Powell and sophomore punter Cole Zweifelhofer (Chippewa Falls, Wis.) as performer of the week honorable mentions for their respective positions.
