Box Score FARGO, N.D. -- The University of South Dakota women's soccer team opened a stretch of six straight road games with a 4-0 loss to North Dakota State in nonconference play Sunday in Fargo, N.D.
USD (3-5-1) was originally scheduled to play seven straight road games but the opening game at South Dakota State, originally set for Sept. 22, was canceled because of wet weather conditions.
NDSU (5-2-3) got rolling early, scoring four goals in the first 20:30 of the game to take a 4-0 lead, which was the score at halftime. The Bison had a 16-1 edge in shots in the first half.
USD kept the Bison off the scoreboard in the second half but was unable to find the net over the final 45 minutes.
Sophomores Erin Bello (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Rachel Greene (Onalaska, Wis.) had shots for USD. Senior goalkeeper Jen Ogren (Raymore, Mo.) had 12 saves.
The Coyotes are back in action on Thursday, Sept. 30 at Drake. Game time is 5:30 p.m. in Des Moines, Iowa.
