Box Score VERMILLION, S.D. - Sophomore Jenny Teslow scored two goals, but North Dakota scored twice in the final 19:30 to rally past the South Dakota women's soccer team, 3-2 in the regular-season opener for both teams. The new-look Coyotes, with 21 freshmen and no seniors on the active roster, fall to 0-1 with the loss.

Teslow (Sioux Falls, S.D.) put the Coyotes up 1-0 just 4:36 into the game with a goal off of an assist from freshman Rebecca Pederson (Waconia, Minn.). The Coyotes took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

North Dakota tied the game early in the second half, but Teslow answered 10 minutes later at the 59:06 mark with her second goal to put the Coyotes up 2-1. Freshman Lauren Bennett (Walton, Ky.) assisted on the goal.

UND scored off of a penalty kick at the 71:30 mark, and scored the winning goal with 2:24 left to secure the 3-2 win.

Freshman Mackenzie Viktor (Loveland, Colo.) had six saves in her Coyote debut.

"I was happy with the work ethic and the heart we played with," South Dakota head coach Mandy Green said. "We had a lot of people contribute. We made mistakes that cost us, but the mistakes we made are fixable. It was a good first outing. A lot of promising things happened."

Teslow led with three shots, while junior Rachel Greene (Onalaska, Wis.) had two. The Coyotes finished with nine shots for the game.

South Dakota's next game is its home opener on Aug. 28 against Nebraska-Omaha. The game begins at 1 p.m. at the South Dakota Soccer Field.
