VERMILLION, S.D.—Denver got goals from four different players and remained unbeaten and unscored upon in Summit League play following a 4-0 win against South Dakota Sunday at USD Soccer Complex. The 16th-ranked Pioneers improved to 14-1-1 overall and 5-0-0 in League play. They have outscored League foes 19-0.
USD (5-7-3, 0-4-0) held Denver to one goal through 70 minutes, but the Pioneers broke it open by scoring three times in a span of nine minutes late. Nicholette DiGiacomo scored her ninth goal of the season to make it 2-0 with 20 minutes left. Francesca Garzelloni made it 3-0 less than three minutes later. Stephanie Woo's second goal of the season made it 4-0 with 12 minutes to go.
The Coyotes were outshot 14-6 and managed three shots on goal. USD goalkeeper Mackenzie Viktor finished with three saves.
South Dakota returns to the pitch at 7 p.m. Friday against Fort Wayne in Indiana. It will be the final road game of the season for the Coyotes.
