Final Stats

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Defending Summit League Player of the Week Andie Lazzerini scored her third goal in as many games to lead the Mastodons to a 1-0 win against South Dakota Friday night at Hefner Field.

It was the third 1-0 loss for the Coyotes (5-8-3, 0-5 Summit) in their last four games. Fort Wayne (5-9-1, 2-1-1) is 3-0-1 in its last four.

South Dakota appeared to have broken the scoreless tie in the 70th minute, but was offsides on the play. Four minutes later, Lazzerini had her third goal of the season. She received a pass from Mayson Whitman near the center of the box and put it past USD goalkeeper Mackenzie Viktor to the right side of the net.

Fort Wayne out-shot the Coyotes 15-6 and limited USD to four shots on goal. Viktor had six saves for the Coyotes. Sam Pavlika picked up her eighth career shutout for the Mastodons.

The loss eliminates South Dakota from competing in the Summit League Tournament. The Coyotes will wrap up their season at home next week against Western Illinois (Nov. 1) and IUPUI (Nov. 3).
