FARGO, N.D. – Katie Wetzstein and Megan Hilson placed third and fourth respectively in the women's 4k to lead the South Dakota women's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Bison Open.
Wetzstein paced the Coyotes with a finish of 14 minutes, 51.90 seconds, about six seconds behind the winning time of 14:45.53 set by Erin Teschuk of North Dakota State. Megan Hilson crossed in 14:55.03 while Amber Eichkorn placed seventh in 15:00.72 to round out USD's top-10 finishes. Britni Waller finished 14th in 15:34.93 and Kate Kaster finished 17th in 15:43.16 to finish USD's scoring.
The meet was also scored as a triple dual. The women went 2-1, topping North Dakota 19-39 and South Dakota State 26-30, but were edged by North Dakota State 27-30.
Due to a timing error, the men's results are unavailable at this time.
South Dakota is next scheduled to compete at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis on Sept. 28.
