Box Score

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.—The South Dakota women's soccer team tied up the game late in the second half, but Northern Arizona scored once more to record a 3-2 win over the Coyotes on Sunday at the Lumberjack Stadium in Flagstaff.

The Coyotes (4-2-0) fell behind in the first half when Northern Arizona's Emily Wadell scored from outside the box in the 32nd minute.

Less than a minute after halftime, Shannon Keller scored a header off a free kick for the Coyotes to tie the game. Two more goals were scored within the next five minutes, one for each team. The Lumberjacks' Adrian Nixt dribbled the ball right into the goal box to score off a pass from teammate Demi Schmeider. South Dakota responded a minute later when Corey Strang scored unassisted on a shot from 10-yards out.

The game remained tied at 2-2 until the 85th minute when Haley Wingender of Northern Arizona (1-3-1) scored off a free kick outside the box to retake the lead for the Lumberjacks.

The Coyotes return home next weekend to play Wyoming on Friday at 4 p.m. in Vermillion, S.D.
