MOSCOW, Idaho—Idaho's Alyssa Lloyd knocked in two goals to lead the Vandals to a 4-1 victory over South Dakota on Friday at Guy Wicks Field in Moscow, Idaho.
Idaho tied up its season record 4-4 with the win, while South Dakota fell to 2-7.
Kavita Battan put the Vandals on the board in the 29th minute with assists from Olivia Baggerly and Kayla Watanabe. Lloyd followed that up with a goal in the 42nd minute to lead the Coyotes by two at the half.
A string of passes by the Vandals concluded as Chloe Bell found Elexis Schlossarek in the box in the 54th minute. Schlossarek put it into the back of the net to put the Vandals up by three.
The Coyotes responded less than a minute later as junior
Corey Strang sent a cross in from the right flank. Senior
Taylor Nivala headed the ball into the back of the net for her first goal of the season.
Lloyd notched her second goal of the match in the 89th minute off a corner kick from Clara Gomez.
South Dakota sophomore
Sydney Hardin grabbed five saves for the Coyotes.
Following a three-game road series, South Dakota returns to Vermillion, S.D., to face Northern Iowa at 1 p.m. Sunday.
