BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—South Dakota sophomore guard Jaycee Bradley scored a career high 26 points to lead the Coyotes to a 75-60 win over CSU Bakersfield on Sunday afternoon inside the Icardo Center.
 
It was the largest margin of victory for South Dakota (5-1) this season with the previous five games being decided by less than 10 points. CSU Bakersfield (1-4) has now lost four straight.
 
Bradley shot at an efficiency of 81.8 percent (9-of-11) to reach 26 points. She drained five 3-pointers. Bradley also tallied new career highs for rebounds with seven and steals with three.
 
"I thought some of Jaycee's most impressive takes today was getting to the rim with an and-1 finish," said USD head coach Dawn Plitzuweit. "She made really good decisions and was assertive. We watched film from our last game at UC Riverside and thought that the fourth quarter we became too passive as a team. Today that wasn't the case. We played aggressive through the whole game."
 
South Dakota finished at 49.1 percent (26-of-53) from the field. The Coyotes had 23 assists on 26 made field goals, a season high for assists in a game. South Dakota also made a season high 13 triples.
 
The Coyotes took the lead with 6:28 left in the first quarter and held onto it for the remainder of the game.
 
CSU Bakersfield outscored the Coyotes 20-13 in the fourth quarter behind a 5-of-6 effort from guard Addi Walters off the bench. Walters tallied a team-high 16 points in the game, with 13 in the fourth period. South Dakota sophomore guard Allison Arens drove to the rack for eight of her 15 points in the fourth quarter to keep the Coyotes' lead. Arens also dished out a team high seven assists. Freshman guard Madison McKeever handed out a career high five assists.
 
Coyote freshman guard Ciara Duffy was the third Coyote in double figures at 12 points with nine coming in the third quarter. CSU Bakersfield's Erika Williams and Kate Tokuhara both finished with 11 points.
 
South Dakota junior center Kate Liveringhouse scored a season high eight points and hit the first two triples of her career. Senior forward Bridget Arens had a season best six points by flashing into the paint for open layups.
 
The Coyote defense held the Roadrunners' leading scorer, Aja Williams who averages 23.3 a game, to two points on 1-of-10 shooting.
 
"We made sure that Aja wasn't able to get into a rhythm," Plitzuweit said. "For her, coming off ball screens helps her get into a rhythm and we took her out of that early. She averages 12 arc shots per game, but she only got six up tonight. She was 1-of-10 from the floor. I thought the attentiveness we paid to her was very good."
 
South Dakota outrebounded CSU Bakersfield 34-30. In addition to Arens, senior center Abigail Fogg pulled down five and redshirt-freshman forward Megan Bonar grabbed five. Brittany Sims led the Roadrunners with nine off the glass.
 
CSU Bakersfield tallied six blocks in the first half, but only stopped one in the second half. Roadrunner center Jazmyne Bartee had three of the team's seven blocks in the first quarter.
 
The Coyotes return home to host Concordia-St. Paul at 7 p.m. Wednesday inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
