CLEARWATER, Fla.—Bowling Green pitcher Kiley Sosby allowed three hits and struck out nine to lead the Falcons to a 5-2 win against South Dakota on the final day of the Under Armour Showcase hosted by University of South Florida.
Shortstop Aspen Searle was 3-for-4 with a run scored and center fielder Molly Holliday was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Bowling Green (11-10), which posted eight hits in the game.
The Coyotes (4-23) got a two-run homer from
Shelby Keil in the fourth inning that cut Bowling Green's lead to 3-2. It was the third home run of the season for Keil.
Jessica Rogers' single in front of Keil was the first hit surrendered by Sosby, who after walking the leadoff batter in the first, retired 11 straight hitters. Sosby was perfect in four of the seven innings.
South Dakota opens Summit League play March 25 for the first two games of a three-game series against Fort Wayne in Indiana.
