Green relieved of coaching duties

VERMILLION, S.D.—University of South Dakota Athletic Director David Herbster announced that head women's soccer coach Mandy Green has been relieved of her coaching duties, effective immediately.

"I thank Mandy and her family for their contributions to the University of South Dakota," said Herbster. "Mandy has led a group of young women in all facets of life, and in other ways that the public doesn't see. At the end of the day, the results on the field did not meet our expectations. I wish Mandy and her family all the best moving forward."

The Coyotes were 39-94-15 in eight seasons under Green, including a 4-13-0 mark this past season. South Dakota was 16-34-5 in Summit League play with one fourth-place finish and competed in one Summit League Tournament.

A national search for the next head coach will begin immediately.
