LINCOLN, Neb. — The South Dakota soccer team held No. 14 Nebraska scoreless for 43 minutes but the Coyotes ultimately fell 3-0 to the Huskers Friday night in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Nebraska jumped on the scoreboard when Emilee Cincotta fired a shot into the upper-left corner of the goal. She was set up by Brenna Ochoa with the clock showing 42:51.

South Dakota had its best look on goal in the 23
rd minute of action when freshman
Alexis Mitchell, making her first career start, put a leg on a shot forcing the Huskers keeper to make the save.

Nebraska added its second goal in the 71
st minute on a shot from Sinclair Miramontez and the final goal in the 90
th minute on a shot from Savanah Uveges. Both goals were unassisted.

Coral Suarez tallied six saves for the Coyotes in her second-straight start.

South Dakota makes its 2017 home debut hosting Northern Iowa on Sunday. Kickoff from First Bank & Trust Field is slated for 2 p.m. The Coyotes have won three of the last four meetings with the Panthers, including a victory in Vermillion in 2015.
