OMAHA, Neb. – South Dakota's
Katie Bartlett won individual medalist honors at the Creighton Classic after firing a 1-under-par 72 in Tuesday's final round. The junior finished at 1-over-par for the tournament with 147 strokes at Oak Hills Country Club.

Bartlett, hailing from Pierre, South Dakota, led the field with 25 pars and ranked second with five birdies over the two rounds to aid in her victory. She was also the only golfer in the field to shoot below par in any round.

"For Katie to win, it means she didn't shy away from her game plan and executed," head coach
Brett Bennett said. "She always plays to her strengths and it proved to be the best this week. She earned it!"

As a team, the Coyotes shot the lowest round of any team in the field on Tuesday with 302 strokes to move from third place to second place. Coupled with Monday's 311, the Coyotes finished with 613 strokes as Northern Iowa won the team title with 602 shots.

Freshman
Laerke Jensen placed sixth with 151 strokes at 5-over-par.
Megan Munneke, also a freshman, placed in a tie for 11
th place with 157 shots after improving her score by nine strokes from the first round to the second. Seniors
Lexi Petersen and
Jennifer Vincent placed 14
th and 29
th, respectively. Petersen tallied 158 strokes while Vincent totaled 164 shots.

Freshmen
Elizabeth Duncan and
Emma Sabbagh were in the field as individuals. Duncan placed in a tie for 22
nd with 161 shots while Sabbagh was 39
th with 169 strokes.

Bartlett's individual victory is the second-straight for the Coyotes at the Creighton Classic. The last time the event was held in 2016, then-senior
Brenna Lervick earned the event victory.

South Dakota plays its final fall event Oct. 15-16 at the Pat Lesser-Harbottle Invitational hosted by Seattle University.
