VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota football is No. 24 in this week's STATS FCS Top 25 poll following its 35-28 win against Missouri State that moved the Coyotes to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the MVFC. USD and top-ranked North Dakota State are the lone unbeaten teams in the Valley thru two weeks.
South Dakota is back in the rankings following a two-week hiatus. The Coyotes climbed as high as No. 22 during non-conference play and have been listed just outside the top 25 in the last two polls.
USD hosts UNI (2-3, 1-1 MVFC) at 6 p.m. Saturday inside the DakotaDome in the first USD night game in Vermillion since 2009. The Panthers were preseason No. 12, but fell out of the top 25 for the first time this season following their 56-31 loss to NDSU at home on Saturday. UNI is the first team listed outside the top 25.
