Freshmen lead Coyotes at Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. – The South Dakota women's golf team wrapped up the Fresno State Classic Tuesday led by freshman Megan Munneke with 229 strokes at 13-over-par.
 
Munneke shot a 3-over-par 75, her second-straight score of 75, to close the tournament tied for 47th. The Coyotes placed 14th with 937 strokes after posting their best round of the event on Tuesday with 306 strokes.
 
Christine Danielsson led UC Davis to the team title behind her individual medalist honors with 209 strokes at 7-under-par. UC Davis totaled 856 shots as a team.
 
Freshman Emma Sabbagh had her second-best event of the season with 234 strokes in a tie for 60th. Freshman Laerke Jensen and senior Lexi Petersen each totaled 238 strokes while junior Katie Bartlett tallied 245 shots to round out the Coyote scorers at Copper River Country Club.
 
South Dakota plays its final team tune-up before the Summit League Championship at the Kansas City Intercollegiate. The event hosted by UMKC is slated for April 8-9.
