SB: Summit League Tourn.

BROOKINGS, S.D.—South Dakota State racked up nearly as many hits as it did in two games yesterday in rolling to a 14-2, five-inning win against South Dakota in the rubber match of a three-game series at Jackrabbit Stadium.

SDSU shortstop Yanney Ponce was 3-for-3 with a home run and five RBIs while first baseman Ali Herdliska added a three-run homer, her Summit-leading 13th of the season. The Jacks (34-15, 11-7 Summit) totaled 12 hits in all including five for extra bases.

South Dakota (31-24, 12-6) got two hits from Lauren Eamiguel and RBIs from Dustie Durham and Skylar Arellano. Starting pitcher Alexis Devers, who was one out from a complete-game shutout Friday, didn't make it out of the first inning Saturday. The Jacks scored six runs – all with two outs – in the first inning, and tacked on four more in the second.
