VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota women's golf and volleyball received an NCAA Public Recognition Award for academic excellence based on the most recent Academic Progress Rates.
The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each semester or academic term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance of each team in every sport. The most recent APRs are multi-year rates based on scores from 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18.
The programs ranking in the top-10 percent of their sport earned the public recognition from the NCAA.
"Congratulations to the programs earning Public Recognition Awards for their commitment to academic success," NCAA President Mark Emmert said. "The number of perfect scores this year is an indication that schools and student-athletes are setting high bars for achievement, and we are proud that they are continuing to succeed academically as well as athletically."
South Dakota Women's golf earned its fourth perfect score while Coyote volleyball claimed its third. Nine programs at USD have earned perfect APR scores since the first announcement just over a decade ago.
