Season two of "YoteCast" with John Thayer, the official podcast of Coyote athletics from Learfield IMG College and the Coyote Sports Network, debuts this week.
 
Thayer's first guest (and a weekly fixture on the show) is South Dakota Athletic Director David Herbster. YoteCast last spoke with Herbster in late May, and certainly things have changed since. The two touch on a number of issues in this first episode:

• When it became real that COVID-19 could impact fall sports
• Conversations with the Summit, the Valley and campus presidents leading up to postponement
• Challenges associated with testing within NCAA protocols

Thayer has been the voice of South Dakota women's basketball for the last seven seasons and a sideline reporter for Coyote football for the past five seasons. Starting this year, Thayer will serve as the play-by-play announcer for both Coyote football and Coyote men's basketball.
