Associate head women's basketball coach
Jason Jeschke, sophomore basketball player
Kruz Perrott-Hunt and offensive coordinator
Ted Schlafke from the football staff are featured in this week's YoteCast, the official podcast of South Dakota athletics hosted by John Thayer.
Â
Jeschke is in his fourth year with Coach Plitzuweit and the Coyotes. He talks about navigating this season and going so long between home games, how being a head coach has made him a better assistant coach, and what inspired him to get into the coaching field after vowing not to. Plus, how being a father puts the world in a new lens.
Â
Perrott-Hunt and the Coyote men's basketball team are (finally) back home with games this weekend and next. He talks about how the team's play on the defensive end has led to more wins, how his confidence has grown in year two, and competing on New Zealand's senior national team. Also, does it snow in New Zealand?
Â
Schlafke offers a position-by-position glimpse of the Coyote offense ahead of the team's season opener next Saturday at Illinois State. He explains how the extra time has helped bring the younger players up to speed and touches on the quarterback competition.
Â
But we start as we always do with Athletic Director
David Herbster. He helped kick off the University's Unite for USD campaign this week. He also talks about opening up for single-game ticket sales, and answers the question that Coyote fans are (apparently) dying to know -- is Joe Flacco an elite quarterback?
