South Dakota Travels to Fargo for Penultimate Regular Season Game

The Game
The South Dakota Coyotes play its final weekend of the regular season in the state up north. The Coyotes start the weekend off against North Dakota State in Fargo for a 6 p.m. match. The game will be streamed on gobison.com with live stats available as well.

The Series
North Dakota State owns the all-time series 13-5-1, but USD has won the last three meetings between the two teams. All three of those contests have been played in Vermillion. Friday's game will be the first time the Coyotes return to Fargo since the 2019 season. South Dakota will look for its first win in Fargo since the 2012 season.

The Coyotes
South Dakota closed out its home schedule with a split against Kansas City and Oral Roberts last weekend. The Coyotes fell by one goal to the Roos before knocking off the Golden Eagles by a final score of 2-1 on Sunday. USD found the game-winning goal off the foot of Joana Zanin in the 73rd minute of play for its third conference win of the season.

Zanin leads the Coyotes in goals and shares a lead in points with Taylor Cotter. Zanin moved up to seventh in the conference with five goals on the year. Cotter has three goals this year and a team-high five assists. She stands in third place in the Summit League with her five assists this season. In net, Caroline Lewis is on the heels of a career-high eight save performance against the Summit's best offense. Lewis moved to ninth place in the Summit standings with 66 saves and a .717 save percentage.

North Dakota State
The Bison enter Friday's match with a 7-7-3 record including a 3-4 mark in conference play. NDSU has won three of its last four games including a 2-0 shutout of North Dakota last Sunday. Paige Goaley and Olivia Lovick scored the goals for the Bison in Sunday's game. NDSU is currently sixth in the Summit League entering the final weekend of regular season games.

Goaley added to her team-high six goals this season after netting an early on against North Dakota. She is now in third place in the league in goals this season and fifth in points with 15. Olivia Watson is second on the team with four goals and nine points.

One Last Thing
The Coyotes can clinch a postseason spot today with a win or draw against NDSU paired with a North Dakota loss to South Dakota State. The Coyotes are currently fourth in the Summit headed in to the final weekend of play.
