ST. LOUIS—South Dakota redshirt freshman quarterback Aidan Bouman has been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Newcomer of the Week for his play in the Coyotes' 20-13 win against Missouri State Saturday. It is the first such honor for Bouman, who hails from Buffalo, Minnesota.
 
Bouman completed 17-of-25 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns while making his second collegiate start. He connected with Wesley Eliodor on a 44-yard score just before halftime that made it 13-3 and threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Carter Bell in the third quarter that made it 20-3. Bouman has passed for 609 yards and accounted for five scores in his three games this season.
 
South Dakota returns to the road one last time this season with Saturday's noon kick at North Dakota. The Coyotes host UNI Nov. 19 in their season finale.
