Â
Omaha held
Ashby Johnston, the Summit's second-leading goal scorer, to just one look. Johnston scored eight goals on the season for the Coyotes, doubling her tally from last fall.
Â
Johnston and defender
Taylor Ravelo were voted to the all-Summit League second team for their performance this season. Johnston had a streak of five goals in six games early in the season. She went on to place 18 shots-on-goal during the season, making her a force to be reckoned with.
Â
Freshman
Brooke Conway made an immediate impact as she secured four goals and five assists this season. Two of Conway's goals came on the road against Idaho State to secure the 3-2 victory for South Dakota. Conway is also second in the Summit for assists and secured a spot on the Summit League all-newcomer team.
Â
Omaha boasted the Summit League's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in the postseason individual awards. Sophia Green, who tallied a league-best nine goals to go with four assists during the regular season, was the Summit's Offensive Player of the Year. Regan Zimmers, the older sister of South Dakota's
Campbell Zimmers, took home the Summit's Defensive Player of the Year. Midfielder Grace Ostergaard joined them on the all-Summit League first team.
Â
In addition, the Mavericks placed midfielder Marissa Gohr on the all-league's second team and defender Jordyn West was honorable mention. Defender Jasmyn Brown and midfielder Alyssa Kellar were on the all-newcomer team.
