12.05.2023

LEXINGTON, Ky.— South Dakota fifth-year senior Madison Harms has been named a North All-Region Honorable Mention selection as selected by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Harms, the Summit League Player of the Year, earns the honor for the first time in her career. She led the Summit League throughout the season in hitting percentage (.375) and total blocks (134). She broke the league's all-time career blocks record in the first round of the Summit tournament and now owns the record with 666 career blocks.

The middle blocker recorded her 1,000th career kill in South Dakota's match against Omaha on Sept. 23, becoming the 12th Coyote in program history to join the 1,000-kill club. On Oct. 12, Harms recorded her 600th career block in USD's sweep of St. Thomas. She is just the second Summit League player to record 600 career blocks.

Harms, a four-time first team All-Summit selection, was named to the Summit League all-tournament team for the first time in her career. She holds the South Dakota program records in the rally scoring era for assisted blocks, solo blocks, and total blocks.
