FARGO, N.D.—South Dakota freshmen
Ava Schroeder and
Ella Greenberg placed fourth and fifth, respectively, at North Dakota State's Fall Invitational held Tuesday and Wednesday at Oxbow Country Club. It marked the first even of the Coyotes' fall season.

Schroeder had the round of the day Wednesday with an even par 72 that included four birdies. It put her at 9-over par for the 36-hole event and two strokes behind North Dakota State's Leah Skaar and Madi Hicks who tied at the top of the leaderboard.

Greenberg had one birdie and three bogeys for a 2-over par 74 Wednesday. She finished her collegiate event at 10-over.

A third Coyote freshman,
Lara Gehring, tied for 15
th place alongside sophomore teammate
Catie Nekola. Both finished at 15-over. Nekola fired a 76 Wednesday and Gehring carded a 77.

USD sophomores
Emma Henningsson and
Alexa Wingnean tied for 19
th place at 22-over par. Freshman
Avery O'Donnell was one stroke behind in 23
rd place.

South Dakota's team score of 299 for round two was low for the four teams. The Coyotes placed third overall at the competition with a team score of 622 (+46), third-best in program history. North Dakota State and St. Thomas tied at 616 (+40). North Dakota placed fourth at 639 (+63).

South Dakota next competes Sept. 10-11 at a tournament hosted by Illinois State in Normal, Illinois.
