Career Day in Kentucky Lands Adams MVFC Newcomer of the Week Honor

10.07.2024

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Following a career day in the program's first-ever trip to Murray, Kentucky on Saturday, the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) has named Iowa State transfer wide receiver Quaron Adams the Newcomer of the Week, announced Monday morning.
Making his presence felt for the second-straight week in the passing game. Adams (So., Phoenix, Ariz.) had three catches for 83 yards in the 59-0 shutout of Murray State this past weekend. On the opening drive, he was on the receiving end of a 46-yard pass to put the Yotes inside the Racer 10-yard iine that led to the game's first score.

The sophomore is proving to make himself an electric, and elite, target for quarterback Aidan Bouman (Jr., Buffalo, Minn.) with the start of conference play the last two weeks.

Saturday's performance comes on the heels after he erupted for 61 yards on his one reception against No. 17 Southern Illinois the week before (Sept. 28). That week saw him catch his first touchdown as a Coyote, connecting with Bouman for the 61-yard score.
On the season, Adams sits second on the team in receiving yards with 197 yards and a touchdown. He has eight receptions on the season and averages 39.4 yards per game. Over 70% of his yards (144) have come in the last two weeks and on just three receptions.

He's the second Coyote to earn MVFC Player of the Week honors this season. Keyondray Jones-Logan (So., Orlando, Fla.) earned Special Teams Player of the Week accolades after his kickoff return to open the season against Northern State.
