VERMILLION, S.D. – South Dakota softball head coach
Robert Wagner has announced the addition of four student-athletes in Charlotte Morgan, Sophia Bauman, Camryn Kersten and Aubrey Lensmeyer.
Charlotte Morgan | RHP / 1B | Parker, Colo. | Legend High School
Charlotte Morgan was named the 2024 Continental League Pitcher of the Year in 2024, her junior season at Legend High School. She was a Second Team All-Conference selection in 2022 and 2023, and a First Team selection in 2024. Morgan was also named a First Team All-State performer and was honored as the Continental League Athlete of the Month in September of 2024. Morgan was an Academic First Team All-State honoree in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and was named to the Honor Roll in each of those years. The daughter of Josh and Melanie Morgan plans to major in sports marketing and media.
Sophia Bauman | Middle INF | Grimes, Iowa | Dallas Center Grimes
Sophia Bauman was a 2023 Iowa Track & Field State Qualifier in the long jump, helped the Mustangs to a 2023 4A Basketball State Championships. She earned Spring and Fall 2022 Academic Excellence awards and was named to the 2022-23 All-Academic Teams for cross country and track & field and the 2023-24 basketball All-Academic Team. Bauman also played for the Iowa Outlaws Select Andrews and Nebraska Gold 18u National. The daughter of Jake and Vicky Bauman plans to major in dental hygiene.
Camryn Kersten | UTL | Camden Point, Mo. | North Platte R-1
Camryn Kersten was a two-time First Team All-District and two-time Second Team All-District selection out of North Platte R-1. In 2024, she was an All-District, All-Conference and All-Region honoree. In her career, she has totaled 12 home runs and 90 RBIs. She has been named to the Academic All-State Team four straight years (2021-2024). The daughter of Craig and Marilyn Kersten plans to major in accounting at South Dakota.
Audrey Lensmeyer | P / OF / 1B | Ankeny, Iowa | Ankeny High School
Audrey Lensmeyer has earned three All-Conference honors as a Hawk at Ankeny High School. She was a third team All-Conference selection in her junior season when she tallied nine home runs, 30 RBIs and struck out 115 in the pitcher's circle. Lensmeyer is also a three-time recipient of the Academic Excellence Award and Varsity Academic Achievement Award. The daughter of Ryan and Wendy Lensmeyer plans to major in nursing at South Dakota.
The four players will enroll and compete for South Dakota in the fall of 2025.
