VERMILLION, S.D. – Wyoming jumped out to an early lead on the South Dakota women's basketball program and didn't look back, defeating the Coyotes 79-45 Sunday afternoon inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.

The Coyotes (4-8) started cold from the floor, making 2-of-15 shots in the first quarter as the Cowgirls opened a double-digit lead. The Cowgirls, a team that shoots 30% from three prior to Sunday, hit 54% (14-of-26) in the game to build and maintain their lead.

The Coyotes' lone player in double figures Sunday was
Grace Larkins, who tallied 12 points and 12 rebounds for her 19
th career double-double. It's also the fifth time this season, and second straight game with a double-double for Larkins. Larkins climbed into seventh on the USD all-time scoring list with 1,609 points in her USD career.

It is the first time this season the Coyotes lost a game but won the turnover battle. South Dakota, who leads the Summit League and ranks 26
th nationally in fewest turnovers at 13 turnovers per game entering play Sunday, only turned the ball over eight times, compared to 14 turnovers for the Cowgirls.

Wyoming outscored the Coyotes in the first three quarters, but much like South Dakota's last game at Northern Iowa Tuesday, the Coyotes outscored their opponent in the fourth quarter, with USD winning the final 10 minutes 19-12.

South Dakota is back in action Wednesday against Mount Marty at 7 p.m. in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
