VERMILLION, S.D. – University of South Dakota head football coach Bob Nielson is excited to announce that Connor Cheek has joined the USD football staff as the director of operations.
 
"Connor brings administrative experience from two different Big 12 football programs that will serve him well in his new role here at USD," said Nielson.
 
Cheek comes to Vermillion from Iowa State, where he spent last season as the associate of equipment operations with the Cyclone football team. One of two people assigned to the ISU football team, Cheek assisted with Iowa State's equipment procurement and development and oversaw a student staff of eleven. He also provided leadership with various aspects of team travel during the 2023 season.
 
The Kansas native is a 2023 graduate of Kansas State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. While at Kansas State, Cheek served as a football equipment manager and assisted with team travel.
 
Cheek will begin his duties at USD immediately.
