VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota women's basketball fell 70-55 to South Dakota State Saturday night inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
It was the 100th meeting between South Dakota (16-8, 5-4 Summit) and South Dakota State (17-5, 9-0) in women's basketball.
The Coyotes were led by fourth-year sophomore center
Natalie Mazurek's 17 points off the bench. It was one shy of her career high. Mazurek has scored in double-figures for six of the last eight games. She also pulled down six defensive rebounds and blocked two shots.
Junior guard
Grace Larkins finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Third-year sophomore forward
Carley Duffney posted her best game of Summit play with 12 points and four rebounds.
The Jackrabbits were led by forward Brooklyn Meyer's 22 points and nine boards. Guard Paige Meyer added 15 points and five assists, while guard Ellie Colbeck came off the bench to knock down five 3-pointers for a career high 15 points.
South Dakota returns to action next Thursday at Denver. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Central inside Hamilton Gymnasium in Denver, Colorado.
