Harden drafted by Cleveland Browns

DETROIT, Mich.—South Dakota defensive back Myles Harden was drafted in the seventh round by the Cleveland Browns Saturday on day three of the NFL Draft.

Harden is the first Coyote to be drafted since Tyler Starr in 2014. Harden's the 17th Coyote to be drafted into the NFL in program history (full list below).

"I am unbelievably excited for Myles," said South Dakota head football coach Bob Nielson. "He's an outstanding young man who became a true leader in our program. I look forward to following his career in the NFL."

Harden was pick No. 227 overall and the fifth player drafted by the Browns.

"I could not be prouder of Myles," said South Dakota defensive coordinator Travis Johansen. "His dedication and focus on developing as one of the toughest, most disciplined players in America has put him in a position to compete as one of the best football players in the world. Cleveland just picked a competitive professional who will impact their organization on the field and in their locker room. Coyote Nation will all be Browns fans this fall!"

Hailing from Miami Gardens, Florida, Harden was a consensus FCS All-American on the gridiron this fall. He was a first-team all-MVFC cornerback and one of two FCS players named as semifinalists for the National Comeback Player of the Year. In advance of the Draft, Harden participated in both the East-West Shrine Bowl and the NFL Combine.
